Christmas Tree

I had the pleasure this holiday season to spend

Christmas with my daughters and enjoy their Trees

for Christmas.

We share the Traditional Christmas tree with our youngest daughter,granddaughter and son in law.

And this same family

has a family room and a Living room, so you

guessed it we had the second tree.

Then we had the pleasure of going to our oldest daughter's house

and enjoying her Traditional tree with a slight twist.

What is the slight twist you might ask,

well look closer do you see it?

My daughter's friends decided to name the tree

How Clever of them!

AND THEN WE CAME HOME

and enjoyed our special tree.

Many of you would not like an artifical tree, but it works for us.

My husband no longer can haul a real tree in and out of the house.

And I enjoy changing our ornament colors to match the mood we are in that year.

So everyone has their own special tree and everyone decorates them differently.

No one is right and no one is wrong as long as that perfect tree makes you feel wonderful,

it has done its job for the season.

I really thought he was just a dead moth until I saw his wings move.

I took this photo of this small tiny flower,

while I was at association island on vacation.

Or how about a close up of a piece of swamp grass?

Even a milk weed pod makes a pretty picture!

Or change the view and look up!

Clouds can make a nice photo.

Clouds can change from plain to whispy to destinctive in

just a matter of a few minutes.

Making them a good subject to photography!

Then there are the tress and all of their oddities!

What is this growth upon this tree?

I have no idea but it looks like a rough version of a pine cone,

but it is the bark.

Can you see the face in this bark?

And to think it actually grew like this!

This one is a little harder to see,

but there is a face in this one as well.

Photos can be of interesting things around us ,

not just of people and places.

Don't you just love fireworks?

All the different displays that are put out there just amaze me!

You have the spikes, kind of looking like a wheat field.

You have the ones that look like a urchin or a sideways jelly fish.

You have the ones that look like spiders.

You have the stardust with twinkles.

There are the spiney kind or star bursts.

You have your carnations.

And then you have the big ending.

I always love the way they end.

All the colors and all the smoke and sounds

Makes the whole thing worth watching!

I took the most relaxing trip this past weekend.

I crossed the stone bridge to the Island and it was wonderful!

The clouds would make you think a storm was coming in,

then the clouds would disappear and the sun would come out again.

There were some amazing sunsets!

No two sunsets are ever exactly the same on the island.

And some sunsets set the sky a blaze!

Or it can light up a sail boat in a beautiful way!

And this weekend was military appreciation weekend,

there was a rock climbing wall and scuba diving lessons, and paddle boat rides

there was wine tasting and food .

My husband and I

Volunteered to help out.

Even people from the main land came to the island

to enjoy the festivities.

I even got to meet and shake the hand of State Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine ,

before he had to rush off to give a speech on the island.

He was very friendly!

It was a busy day that day for my husband and I, but it was fun too.

And the people took back pleasant memories of their day on the island .

Withall the help the volunteers gave to them while they were on the island.

While we relaxed after the festivities and enjoyed yet another beautiful sunset,

and later that night

Our friends built an amazing campfire and we sat and talked

all about the days events.

One that has a nice flame rising from it , on a cool night.

A good camp fire you can gaze into the flames and a

animal looks like it is there.

"This one looks like a crocodile in the flames."

You can gaze into the fire and day dream about what ever you want,

as the golden glow takes your mind to many places.

Or you can roast a few marshmellows as long as they,

Don't fall off your stick and into the fire.

What a way to warm up on a cool night

then to sit in a Chair and feel the heat coming from the fire.

I just love a camp fire on a cool quite night!

Have you ever wondered,

how so many people can afford to own a boat?

Not only do they have the money to buy the boat,

But they have to pay for a slip at the marina for their boat.

And though I love boats and being out on the water!

Think about the expenses, the cost of the boat,the insurance on the boat,

The cost of the boat slip at the marina, the gas to go out boating.

The trailer and the vehicle to transport the boat to the marina,

and the insurance on those.

All of this just for a few hours of boating...hmmm..thinking,

No it is not worth all that expense to me.

I can get a boat ride from a boat rental place and pay far less, thank you!

Coming back from my daughters house tonight I was worrying about my husband.

See he had this procedure done and found out he has a 55% blockage in the artery of his heart.

I was sliently praying to GOD that he will be ok.

When something told me to look over to the right and there in all it's glory was

this amazing sky. And I felt a peace come over me like everything will be alright.

It was as though GOD had touched the sky to let me know that things will be ok.

You could not have made a more perfect sky,

the sun rays were twice as brilliant as this picture depicks.

GOD really is GREAT!

And his glory shows in the sky above.

GOD sent down his peace and love!

Thank you GOD for the peace and the contenment in my time of need!

On the island there is a inlet for the marina,

a lot of people fish at the inlet. Some catch

catfish, sunfish,perch, pike.

But there is this little bitty fish that lives along the rock wall.

If you drop your line in with a worm on the hook, with in seconds you will

catch a small little fish they call a goby(pronounced go-bee).

This tiny little fish ,you would think would be no problem

to the fishing community. But they are eating all the food

that perch and other fish thrive on.

You are told if you catch them to throw them on the shore,

for the birds to eat. They have over populated the waterways.

And are considered a nusiance by fishermen.

Now you may ask how they got here, from what I understand,

They came in on ships from overseas that cross through the

Saint Lawerence Seaway. I assume that they ride in the water at the base ,

and when the boat is docked they escape out into our waters.

Their free ride may cost them their life.

I personally had never seen such a fish,and I thought how

amazing they are to look at. I never would have suspected they

would be such a problem.

But Goby, YOU HAVE TO GO!

We have a wonderful weekend,

at Association Island!

They have the best sunsets on the island!

There is always an amazing shoreline at night the picture shows some of the color,

But you have to see it in person, it is amazing!

Now this picture depicits the actual colors,no adjustments.

How can one resist such an amazing sunset?

I love to see the puffy, billowing clouds!

I love the way the sun can hit on these clouds and just make them so beautiful!

I love the way the land scape shadows against a well lite sky with snowy white clouds!

I especially love cloud over a body of water.all the contrasting that

happens on one of these amazing days !

The whole thing makes me want to sit and watch the skies forever!

We were visiting when the warning for a torndo came across a weather scanner.

The skies became cloudy but in a strange way!

Then from the rado we heard there was a possible tornado out our way,

so we took a ride away from that area.

These clouds almost look like a tail across a portion of the sky.

The photos were taken with my cell phone of the sky and the clouds.

Then the rain came and the wind picked up and I have to tell you it got cold quick!

This is one of the Clouds as we were heading home.

We heard on the radio that there was a possibility of it touching down near our area,so we

drove the opposite way and

the skies were not much better this way either!

So we took a ride away from our area.

Though these were taken on my cell phone, the colors are some what accurate.

The good news is the tornado never developed and there were no severe damages reported!

Where does a duck go to eat and get out of the weather?

Well, to the Duck Hut of course!

This hut is real and it is located in a local park, seems the people love the ducks so much

they built this duck hut for them to eat and be out of the weather a bit. And there is

Always some corn or feed in the dish for the ducks.

And in this same little park they have a unique idea of what to do with a old plastic boat.

How clever are these people?

It is all in how you pronounce it, I have heard Creek pronounced creek and

I have heard creek pronounced creak.

Anyway you pronounce creek, the sound of one running through the woodland is a beautiful sound!

And if you are lucky you might follow the creek and find

an amzing waterfall at the other end!

I saw this out of the corner of my eye, on my way back from an assignment I had to do.

My husband was with me and he was testy as he wanted to get home.

He knew I was stopping the car for a camera shot, little did he know that I was looking at this.

It was this beautiful hawk!

And he was not a small one either he was a large hawk!

The indians say, we have spiritual guides that help us through life.

They believe that if you see an animal regularly then that is your spiritual guide.

Mine must be a hawk, because I am always seeing them.

They other day I pulled over to take a picture of one and he flew away,

but today this one just sat right there for me .

I wanted one more good picture but the hawk had enough and he quickly crouched down,

and away he flew, I did not even get a chance to get a picture

of him clearly or in flight as he was that quick.

That is why this photo came out so blurry, sorry about that!

I saw these wild lillies growing along side the road,and I could not resist!

I think these are just great,especially the orange against the green!

This looks so cool!

I got out of the car and took a couple close ups,I like how the camera

kind of blurred the back ground, but brought out

the brillant color of the lily.

I took a picture of these 2 leaning against the utility pole,

but I have to say my favorite shot is the one before this with the single lily.

I was driving along when I spotted this figure on the remains of a concrete pier.

I pulled over and got out of the car to get a better shot of what this was.

I still could not get a good shot but, I think it is a blue herron.

YES it is a Herron Bird!!

Have you heard about the church in the wild woods?

Well here it is , but the woods are not so wild anymore.

This is a very nice church to attend and the people in this town are friendly most of the time.

I have to admitt there are a lot of changes taking place to the property as well as the congregation and

the services, they are nothing like they used to be...kind of makes me wonder WHY?

When my grandfather preached at this church we were Methodist and we had the Methodist ways.

Now they are trying to incorporate some catholic ways,some evangelical ways,some Methodist ways.

It is not the Church I once attended,and I have to admit I do so miss that!

IS it a Ghost?

Some people would post a picture like this on there paranormal site as a Ghost, orb.

Spirit , Entity.

See how this moves and makes another shape,is it an angel, or is it a fairy?

See the wings? See the mini body?

And then it goes back to the original shape.

Isn't that amazing?

So is it a ghost, a spirit, an orb, an angel, a fairy?

Would you believe it is nothing more then a reflection

off a plastic lid upon my livingroom ceiling!

Which goes to show you,

you can imagine anything when dealing with what you capture on film or digital camera.

Sometime I would like to display a ghost on this blog...just so people can see what is really taking place.

Oh by the way an Orb is nothing more then light reflection on the camera lens reflecting back and being captured on the picture.

ALWAYS QUESTION what you see that people display on sites as Ghosts,spirit, orbs, angels, fairies/

There are so many way to replicate these type of pictures.

FLOWERS

People ask me why I like lillies so much and ,

how could I like a flower that does not have a sweet smell?

And I answer them by simple saying I have no idea , but I do like lillies!

I think I might like them because of their simplicity and colors,

and the fact that they are simple to find, some can be found along the highways,

others can be grown.

But lillies are not the only flowers I like, I really enjoy all kinds of flowers!

Especially if they are brilliant with color!

I do so love daisies too!

I always think of that song,

"I'll bring you a daisy a day, I'll love you until,

The rivers run still and the

Mounatins they all pass away!"

Ah the daisy , I also am reminded of the childhood saying,

when you pluck each pedal one by one and say

"He loves me, He loves me Not"

Until you get down to the last pedal and what ever you say then, is how he loves you!

Over the weekend my granddaughter was showing me

how she could skateboard.

It fascinates me how a child of 9 can maneuver On one of these boards,

if you look close she is tipping the board to the side a bit, apparently so she can make a turn.

She showed me how she could tip from side to side and how she can maneuver the board now.

She said she is trying to make the board jump and turn over,

so she can land back down on it after the flip.

I say GOOD FOR YOU,keep that sense of skill seeking .

Remember with practice in time you will succeed!

This duck landed at the baseball field,right behind the parents and families lawn chairs.

It started to walk toward the camera as if to say,

Ok lady take the picture!

Then it turned sideways and just stood there in this pose,like,

"Is this side better?"

I have never seen a duck so people friendly

when no one was feeding it.

My grandaughter even got a shot of it.

Seemed like it did not care who was taking the picture,

just as long as it could pose.

This duck just stood and posed for a while,

My grandaughter took this picture of it.

"Hey little girl didn't the lady like my other side ?"

"Is this side better?

"How do you think my photo shoot went ?"

Then,the duck turned and walked away as if to say:

Well I have to leave now,Nice posing for you!

Ahh the wonders you can find in a swamp!

These little flowers were growing on this bush,

and I thought how wonderful they looked amongst the greenery of the swamp!

This is a real closeup of the flower on that bush.

And to think when you first see this bush it is just

another swamp bush with some kind of flower growing on it.

But, a closer look reveals something that is quit pretty to look at!

Global warming?

When I was young we used to watch birds and other creatures

go to the swamp to bath, it was across the street from our house.

I went back there not to long ago and I was amazed at what I saw!

The swamp that used to have a lot of water in it, now has a

slight muddy area. My question is where did the water go?

Is it global warming? And if not ,what happend to all the water?

Hmmm? mystery unsolved so far.

I just love these delicate flowers!

When I was a child these grew on our side lawn.

My babysitter(the lady who babysat me) picked one of the flowers,

she put the end in her mouth and sucked on it.

I found out when I tried to do it that I had to hold the flower between my fingers.

The first time I did it I sucked the whole flower into my mouth.

When I learned the proper way to suck on this flower,

I got a very sweet nectar from the flower,if I did not know better I would say it was honey.

My brothers and I used to taste these flowers everytime we went outside.

I have no idea what kind of flower it is, but it is very sweet and pretty too.

It was so beautiful!

All I can say is a river runs through it!

This is a local river that runs through the city.

You are actually looking East from the resturant on the west side of this city.

The retention pond at the bottom of the picture is actually better color in the photo,

in reality it is kind of green and not so appealing, as is the river.

But the sky above does reflect it's color beautifully off this river to make a nice photo.

When I pulled over to take this picture my husband wanted to know why.

I told him can't you see the color contrasts?

Of course he looked at me like I was nuts.

I probably am, but this photo has some nice colors going on.

Besides the color, it shows that after a devastation it takes a greatdeal of

time for things to recover, especially trees!

I wish I could say this is a good photo but I had to take it from a distance.

This farmer has all kinds of wooden carvings on his land.

The sun was so bright this day that the wooden figures were hard to get a clear shot of.

This is one that looked like a pioneer with his gun.

This wooden sculpture was made from a tree that actually had grown on this farmer's property.

                    It looks quit angry though. Maybe it is suppose to represent a really bear, if you
                 encountered him in the field. I just was amazed to see all these wooden creations
                 out in a farmer's field. Not only is this person a farmer, but apparently an artist as well!

While I was in this area, I saw this view it was just so nice,

I had to take the shot.

I saw this in the shadows, When I came around the corner of my house.

I made all kind of noise and it just sat there.

Then I went in for a close up and he put his head up so I could get a picture of him.

It is a young rabbit, not quit a bunny cause he was just a little bigger.

He never moved a muscle, until my husband decided to go into the house and when

he came back out of the house, the rabbit disappeared.

All the noise we made and that rabbit never moved but let my husband

come back out of the house and I guess the rabbit figured there was to much going on for him.

I saw this along the highway and I wondered ,

in this day and age can't they make these power poles

more eye appealing?

I mean first they have to cut through the mass of forest.

Why can't they at least make them more appealing and not

such an eye sore on the landscape?

I realize they serve a important function,but do you really

like looking at these massive invaders amoungst the prestine landscape?

Does size matter?

According to this little beauty it does matter!

I saw this small boat in the marina at the island and I started to laugh!

My husband asked me why I was laughing, I told him to look at the name on this boat.

He did not get it!

I told him about the phrase Does size matter, and he looked at me like I was nuts.

I could not help it I thought this boat is small and has been named size matters.

You would expect to see these saying on a huge ship, then I could see it being named this,

But on a small boat with little size to it.....I don't know it just makes me laugh.

GRAFFITI

It is not just for big city or small cities.

I found this graffiti on a switch box by the country rail road crossing.

What exactly it says I am not sure,maybe you can decipher it!

I went in closer to try to decipher it myself, but all I can see is,

Too whom? Hmmm , mystery.

It seems in the country the going graffiti trend is happening near the railroad crossings.

At least this one I think I can read!

It looks to me like it says

CRY KOP!

I could be wrong. But at least this one is neater then the first and actually,

you can read the Kop part very clearly,

Why do the kids do this?

I say kids because I don't really think from the childish graffiti,

that an adult would have drawn this, I would hope an adult would have

took more time and made it more artistic!

Pool, was not ready yet and this was a hot weekend.

And it being Canadian weekend, we were not the only campers

that would have loved to have the pool opened.

I had to laugh when I looked at this sign!

Now the question is ...

Do the Olympics need to go 5 MPH or

Do the lovers have to take it slow??

These geese were honking in the marina ,as we were walking by.

I think they thought they owned the place!

As we walked up they made their way down to the water.

I caught this sunset as we were walking around the island.

On the island you never know what color the sunset will be,

it all depends on the clouds and atmosphere.

I love how this came out!

I could not resist the way the light glimmered off the water!

The added feature was the trees and the grass and how they

Shadowed the view making it an awsome picture for me .

On the island at the entrance to the marina there she stands!

Now I find it kind of odd, the island has

American flag flying alone, when down by the store they

usually have both american and canadian flags flying.

This year how ever was different,they did not have

the Canadian flag flying.

And this weekend past was the Canadian Mermorial day weekend.

Now the Canadians use the marina when they are there as much

if not more then the Americans.

I just find it odd that they do not have a canadian flag flying this year ,

nor do they ever have one flying by the Marina.

Well we made that long trip to the island!

Where the waters are always blue!

And the sunsets are always amazing!

The birds are plenty and wonderful to look at!

And when there are clouds they are interesting to gaze at!

I hate to leave this island!

I wish I owned this island, I would never ever leave.

I also wish I could show my daughters and granddaughter and son in law

the island up close , but then again they are not interested in camping there.

PUT OUT TO PASTURE!

I have heard of a horse becoming useless and being out out to pasture.

I guess the owners of this truck decided it was time to put this old truck,

out to pasture.

I will bet in its time this truck was very useful!

Maybe it was used to take farm produce to market,

or maybe it was used to take hay from the field to the barn.

What ever it was used for, it is obvious now that it is no longer needed.

And so it is retired or so to speak put out to pasture!

You have heard the saying, "Gone but not forgotten."

Well memorial day is coming up and I thought

I would write a post about it.

I drove by this cemetary and it hit me like a ton of bricks!

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!

Could it be that these people's family and friends have also pasted on?

Is that why the grass grows and the stones lean and the stones are not cleaned?

They just don't have anymore relatives and friends to take care of their memories?

Or are they the forgotten few?

Is life really just a whisper in time?

Could life really be that sublime?

What ever happened to perpetual care?

Where are the towns and villages , why are they not caring for these cemetaries?

On this memorial day weekend, lets not let our loved ones,

family and friends be among the forgotten.

Lets really put the words into the saying

"Gone .... and ..... NOT FORGOTTEN!"

Ah does this not look like a nice place to relax by?

Don't let a picture fool you!

This lake is polluted so bad that

a dog took a drink of the water and died.

Now if this was in a brochure I would think ,

Oh how I would like to dip my toes in the water!

But dipping your toes in this water could give you some kind of infection.

Bathing is not allowed on these waters.

So, remember a nice looking photo of a cloudy day by what appears to be a

wonderful lake, could actually be a hazard you should avoid!

Baseball season has just begun!

Imagine the bases are loaded and the batter is up.

The team is playing on its home town field!

The crowds have packed the stands!

The team has players waiting in the bull pit.

The pitcher makes his best pitch, but

crack goes the bat! The batter is now running

for all he is worth to make it to first base

without being tagged out.

Ahhhh I can't wait!

I found this guy walking along like he owned the beach!

Then there was this guy , he was looking a little curious.

I love this photo!

I could have patted him on his little head!

I had a friend once tell me,

you can tell the adults from the younger seagulls,

She said the younger seagulls have spots on them,

and the older adults do not.

How true this is I am not sure.

IF the spot thing is true this is an older adult seagull.

I was driving along when I spotted

these calves in the field, near the road side.

I took this one's picture,

Isn't she cute?

The best part is she looked right at me as I am taking her picture,

and she started to come towards the car.

She kept coming closer so I decided I should drive away.

Is it a snake?

I thought , when i first saw it,

how it looks like a snake moving across the grassy knoll.This fascinated me!

Then I realized it was not moving.

Actually the seagull was flying by and when I snapped the picture of the duck,

The seagull was right there.

I could not have gotten much closer or he would have flown away.

I have to tell you I just love this type of duck,I believe he is called a Mallard duck.

I found him off the shore line of a local lake.

He seemed more relaxed in this picture, like he is thinking

she is not going to come closer so I can sit here,but I will keep my eye on her.

I am guessing he had a itch to scratch.

I went to a garage sale and found a treasure.

We went to a local garage sale last Friday and I found a few things to purchase.

But of all the things I purchased I found a real treasure in this glass basket.

I love the flower outlay and the way the handle comes up and appears to be the leaves.

The red and the pinks and the clear glass made this a true find for me.

When I first spotted this glass basket I thought they will want $3.00 for it,

it is to pretty to ask less. Was I wrong!

I picked up this piece for just .75 cents, I was so excited!

How could they let it go so cheap, why would they?

I think this is a very lovely piece to look at if not practical.

I have also come to the conclusion I love glass baskets shaped like this one.

I have one other and it is a bird one where the wings of the bird come up for the handle.

I think I will start a collection of these baskets.

Just beacuse they are so lovely to look at!

To me these will always be a treasure.

That is the name of a song, I am glad it is not my song.

On mother's day my darling hubby brought me this rose.

To show his love for me.

Oh, he got me other things as well!

I just loved this rose cause I know how much he wanted to just buy flowers,

and I told him I did not want any flowering plants,so he bought me this one rose.

We had a very fun and enjoyable day together on mother's day.

I received phone calls from my children filled with love and good wishes,

and though I had wished I could be with my kids,

My husband made me fell better, he made me feel like I was the only woman

in the world that deserved a rose that day.

Isn't it interestings how techinical things work?

This is so small but can hold so much music.

It can be easily carried from place to place

and you can put it in your pocket or on

your sleeve to transport it,or just about anywhere.

It is so easy to loose too!

Because it is so small!

Just put it down somewhere walk away and maybe a month goes by,

now where did I put that? The hunt is on!

I just had a Idea why not make computers this small?

Except for miss placing it, it makes good sense, and I am sure if it is your

computer and you are on it a lot you will not misplace it!

This would be so easy to take with you from place to place!

You could fit in your pocket, purse,etc.

Have just one cord to hook to a monitor and voila!!!

You would have all your computer stuff with you at all times.

Then when you say to grandma "I will show you the pictures of the kids."

You don't have to add "but they are on the computer, wait till you come over again."

You can pull out this mini computer put the cord to her monitor and There are the pictures!

OK, now why don't this techinal gurus come out with this idea,

keep the cost of it reasonable, they would sell tons!!

This is Brennan's Bay RV park.

My husband and I were doing my work today ,

When we came across this Beautiful place to take your RV!

I can't wait to go Camping at this place,

I bet they have some beautiful sunsets.

My husband checked it all out with the owner and she was very friendly.

She told him they have great sunsets and they are reasonably priced.

The only thing you can not do is take a older RV and ask for them to give you a seasonal rented lot.

Apparently , for what reason i don't know,

you can camp there but you can not leave your older Rv there for the season.

I am not upset with that I just want to go there for a weekend or a few days.

They have this really nice pavillion there, you can picinic under there.

This is the office and also the store.

Everything about this places says NICE!

Hurry up Summer, I need a vacation to this place.

Ah to be on the island!

On the island in the hottest part of summer,

there is always a gentle breeze blowing.

The best part about the island is the sunsets,

and the fact that because of the breese there are no mosquitos!

Not one mosquito!

Oh sure there are pests like shad flies flying around every now and again,

But No Mosquitos!

And the sunests on this island are so beautiful!

You just stand in aw of these sunsets.

People on the island run to get their cameras when the sun starts to go down.

You can see them all out side doing camping things and even

the men will tell their wives or girlfriend

"Honey the sun is setting you should get a picture of that!"

Next thing you know the cameras are out and the people

are along the shore line to get that that perfect subset picture.

I can't wait to go back to the island!

Hurry up summer time!

This fisherman was trying to point out the fish in this pond.

How can anyone see the fish in this weed infested waters?

The fisherman said look right there while pointing to it with the fishing pole.

I had to tell the fisherman "I am sorry but I just don't see any fish".

I think the fisherman got a little upset to think I could not see what he saw.

Sorry Mr Fisherman I really did want to see the fish!

When an arrangement has lots of color how can you not love it?

I remember when I made this arrangement,

I am no florist but I think it came out rather nice.

I would have taken it from another angle but then you could not see the

Big Orange flower.

This was a fall arrangement and the colors kind of reflect that.

These amaze me,Giant air plane props against the sky!
That is what I first thought when I saw the very first one when I was younger.
But,actually these are windmills,and no they are not in Holland.
They are all around in different areas.
They supply the power from the wind to generate electricity.
I just love to look at them from a distance.
If you are every lucky enough to be near one when the winds are really whipping up,
you will hear a very strange sound coming from them.
Although I like to look at them, I often wonder, what if a blade needed to be fixed ,
or the tower needed repair. Who is going to climb that high?
You could not have a fear of height to be able to work on them.
They set so high it puts a cramp in your neck from looking up at it.
I think that the power source is a good idea, but honestly....
Can't they be made smaller? And generate just as much power.

Have you ever seen something like this?
Did you ever wonder what it is or is it just a decoration.
Well I am here to tell you, this is not just a decoration.
This is a weather swan.
This swan can predicted the weather.Right now it is predicting a sunny fair day.
See if the water in the swan is level it will be a nice day.
If the water in the dwan goes up into the neck area there is a storm coming.
It all works on climate pressure changes.
So if you see the neck of the swan filling up take cover,
but if it only goes up a little it means there will be a rainy day ahead.
At least that is how it was explained to me.

Beauty in the woods!

I was walking through the woods the other day.

Most of the woods looked exactly the same there were trees,grass,weeds, bushes.

One thing stood right out among all the browns,greens and tans this lovely bunch of flowers!

The beautiful purple of these flowers caught my eye.

Out here in the middle of the forest ,no other flowers in sight.

This stood out among all of the darker colors, like a little light of happiness.

It was like God had planted them just for me to see as i journeyed through the woods.

That is the only way I can describe it,because no one has been in these woods in a while.

Who else would have planted them right there?

I had to snap the picture and share here!

Today I would like to talk a little about the waiting you have to do .

Have you ever had to be at the dentist office at 9AM to have your teeth cleaned?

Have you ever had to be at the doctor's office at 10 AM for your check up?

Have you ever had to be at the car repair place to get those tires put on at 4PM?

My question is a simply one....WHY?

Why do they all make these appointments just for you and then you get there

and you can not get in at 9 or 10 or 4?

I call this the Hurry up and wait game!

We hurry hurry hurry to get to the dentist , doctor, car repair, etc

and why just so we can wait to be seen.

I say if everyone stood up for their selves this would not happen.

So, if a doctor dentist or car repair place, Etc. Tells you

" your appointment is at 9, 10, 5,Etc."

You tell them I will be there at 9, 10, 5 if you can guarentee me to get right in to see who I need to see, otherwise I will see you within maybe a half hour from the appointment to maybe an hour.

Lets try making them wait for a change!

Our time is as valuable as their's is!

My grandaughter often asks me to tell a story of when I was a little girl.

Today I will try to recreate one of those fond memories when

life was simplier and filled with fun times!

This is the creek down the hill from where I lived growing up.

Of course the water was deeper back then but not to deep.

It actually extended up the bank on either side a bit.

And when I was young one of things I loved to do ,

after we got our chores done was to go swimming in the creek.

My brothers and I would head out down our long drive way.

Of course back then it was a dirt and stone driveway,

but like all things time has taken over,

the grass has grown and the trees have grown.

Picture if you can a young girl of about 9 and her 3 brothers,

all walking down this very long driveway with a salt box in hand.

We would run and try to beat each other to the creek,

and of course along the way ,We would pick at each other too!

Part of the fun was picking on each other.

Back then that driveway seemed like it went on for miles!

Of course the above picture depicts the driveway and at the far end of the road was the creek.

The creek was flowing gently and the fish were swimming by.

First one of the younger brothers would jump in then I and my older brother would follow.

The water always seemed to be the perfect temp on a hot summer's day!

Now we would splash and swim and get out and dry off on the bank for a short time

and then jump back in, this kept going until we were either to tired to continue or too

bored. Then (remember the salt box) sometimes there were blood suckers in the creek.

So the salt was poured on them so they would let go and fall off.

(Remind me why we liked to swim in this creek.)

Anyway it was not all the time only once in a while they were there thick.

But like all good things progress happens and today,

across from what used to be a prestine creek

Sets a factory and the dreams of the future!

Ah to go back in time when all that sat across from the creek,

was a open field that a farmer used to keep his herd of sheep in.

Oh , how times have changed.

Well it is that time of year again!

Yes the local Ice cream shoppe has re-opened!

We stopped there last night on our way home,

the ice cream is still as delicious as ever!

We sat and ate, then as we were ready to leave,

we saw some of our friends coming in.

We visited for well over a half hour with them

as they too enjoyed the cold and refreshing treat!

Spring is here but summer is just aroud the corner.

I know this place was kind of busy last night, but wait till the heat hits!

Ok so we went to a resturant that claims to be a family resturant.

My question is why would you hang these on the side of the deck if it is a family resturant?

What does this teach the kids that go to this resturant?

I personally think if your going to hang these,

hang them near the bar area, not the deck where the kids go out to eat.

They won't let you hang cigarette signs out where kids can be influenced by them.

Why is it ok to hang out these where the kids can be influenced by them?

Why on the corner? So,passer by can know

that the street they are looking for is just

around the corner.

Ah yes these roadways and where do they go?

Here and there and everywhere.

I travel roadways all the time in the work I do as well

as in the lesiure times.

Ever wonder where a road would take you?

My brother and I will take a road just to see where we will end up.

My husband gets worried when we do this,he thinks he will be lost forever.

But pick a bright sunnyday and remember the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

For those directionally challenged I suggest a GPS!

Try that road less traveled it might be the begining of a new adventure!

have you ever wandered through a cemetary?

Well let me tell you ,the other day it was beautiful out and

there were so many people wandering around this cemetary taking pictures.

I am not that fascinated with cemetaries but these people were.

Headstones of old and a cross of wood.

Now I had to find the plague that told the story and

why all the people came to this cemetary and took pictures.

There it was the monument in the field of head stones that explained it all.

The plague was attached in honor of those buried deep within the ground.

It was a Revolutinary war cemetary.

These are the graves of those who fought the battles long ago,

on the very ground that I stood.

I do not want to go into the depicting of the battle zone,that is just to errie.

But they say there is a group who have ghost hunts on certain nights of the year within this cemetary.

I for one have no desire to go out hunting ghosts of fallen soldiers.

But now I know why so many were there taking pictures.

Did you ever have a tree just catch your eye?

Well this tree did that to me!

It is a lonely little tree amongst the taller trees,that seem to over power it,But for one thing ,

This tiny tree has some beautiful flowers that attracts not only the bees, but My eye.

I just thought this would make a nice picture for my blog and now that I posted it ,I was right!

This was once a vibrant Farm.

Now this barn is not being used,it just sits there.

Some of the windows are broken out , the roof needs new shingles,

the barn needs painting. the silo is starting to lean ,as is the barn.

I can remember when I was young,my dad and I would take my cousin to this farm

so he could hay it with the farmer.

He worked long hours baling hay and stacking it in this barn.

They did not have the conveyor belts to take it up the hay mow, they

actually had to use rope and ladders and hard working farm hands.

Now those farm hands are old and retired , the hay sets in the fields,

and the Barn well it is still standing ,but for how many years is anyones guess.

I call it devastation!

Why do contractors think they need to destroy so many trees?

Can they not put the houses in and save some of the trees?

To them this is a pile of logs.

To me this is a waste of young trees that could have been saved for shade, or

to help filter out the bad air near this road.

At least if they are going to fell the trees USE them for something!

What a nice sunset down by the river tonight,

the clouds look like satin they were so smooth.

With the golden glow of the sunjust kissing the edges.

This is the same sunset but a different location in front of my house.

Amazing how light can be so beautiful ,

and yet reflect differently from one place to another.

The difference in time is about 12 minutes from one location to another.

People have been asking if we are going to be doing any camping this year,

and the answer is yes!

We will be going to the place in this picture.

It is a amazing place as in the hottest part of summer

there is a gentle breeze blowing across.

The sunsets are also amazing!

I will have to post when i get some new ones as the old one

were lost when the computer crashed.

I just love birthday parties don't you?

All the beautiful decorations and the activities that are planned.

And lets not forget the presents, the most inportant part though is the one who's birthday it is.

This picture was taken in 2004 at my granddaughters Birthday party.

I just love all the colors and the abundance of balloons they had.

That was a very fun birthday party indeed!
